Betty Brown Clark, 83, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at her home. Betty was born on February 17, 1939, the fifth child out of fourteen born to Harlin and Sarah Corter Smith. She lived in Mountain View after living several years in Monette, Black Oak, Judsonia and Pangburn, Arkansas. She settled into Mountain View, where she attended church at Soul’s Harbor Church there. She was always on fire for God. Betty had a hard life working in fields picking cotton, apples, tomatoes and cherries all over Arkansas, Illinois and Michigan; but she was always faithful to God and her church. She was very loved by her family and special church friends. She will be missed by several.
Betty is survived by four sons, Michael Brown and Gina of Augusta, Arkansas, Richard Brown of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Bobby Brown of Mountain View, Arkansas and Vance Brown and wife, Carrie of Kremmling, Colorado; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Virgie Wyatt of Yakima, Washington, Nadine Merriman of Judsonia, Arkansas, Harvey Smith and wife, Joyce of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Howard Smith of Vilonia, Arkansas, Wanda Street Mason of Judsonia, Arkansas, and Jerry Smith and wife, Marilyn of Searcy, Arkansas; along with many extended family and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Harlin and Sara Corter Smith; siblings, Martha Wilson of Ponoma, Missouri, Harlin Buck Smith of Edna, Kansas, Edith Fletcher of Alco, Arkansas, Roy Smith of Judsonia, Arkansas, Mary Smith of Judsonia, Arkansas, Eldon Smith of Judsonia, Arkansas and infant James Smith; one son, Jimmy Dale Brown of Alabama; husbands, Dickie Brown of Judsonia, Arkansas and Dallas Clark of Mountain View, Arkansas.
Visitation for Betty is Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 PM with Brother Tim Clark and Brother Johnny Merriman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Spoonflat Cemetery in Fifty-Six, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Terry Brown, David Brown, Walter Hill, Lloyd Street, Chris Street and Gary Fletcher. The honorary pallbearer is Johnny Merriman.
