Mary Jane “Janie” Scribner, 83, of Batesville went to her Heavenly home Friday, February 10, 2023.
She was born February 2, 1940, in Abington, Virginia to Paul Bishop and Lucilla (Mason) Bishop.
Janie was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur Rock. She loved her family and getting to spend time with them, she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She loved to read the Bible and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, writing poetry and bird watching.
Survivors include her sons, Terry Scribner of Magness, Phil Scribner (Shannon) of Altus and Dan Scribner (Candi) of Batesville; daughter, Belynda Harris (Rodney) of Batesville; daughter-in-law, Becky Scribner of Batesville; two brothers, David Bishop (Deanie) of Charlotte and Benny Bishop (Regina) of Batesville; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Leroy Scribner; son, Andrew Scribner and brother, Finis Bishop.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Scribner, Wes Scribner, Brett Scribner, Clint Scribner, Nathan Harris, Camron Harris, Devin Holden and Kelley Scribner. Honorary pallbearers are Cody Shearer, Rodney Harris, Aaron Moss, Ethan Snow and Jesse Wyatt.
Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur Rock with Danny Rodgers and Roger Treadway officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Batesville with Wesley Wren Jr officiating under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the church.
