A Batesville man has been handed a 30-year prison sentence for the 2021 murder of his roommate.
Cody Thomas Weathers (pictured above in his intake photo taken today at the Independence County Jail), 31, was charged with first-degree murder for the Jan. 25, 2021 killing of Adam Lowry, 29, inside their residence on Rounds Road, east of Batesville. Weathers also killed Lowry’s dog, Beau.
Weathers was sentenced today after pleading guilty to the charges, according to officials with the 16th Judicial District. He was booked into the Independence County Jail this morning at 10:24 a.m. and will be sent to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, according to the Independence County Sheriff’s Department website.
