For the second time in less than six months, a proposed millage increase for the Highland School District has been rejected by voters, according to Lauren Siebert at the Hallmark Times.
The final numbers for Tuesday’s vote were 693 for the 8.9 mill increase and 1,602 against.
Early and absentee ballots cast for the district — which includes Sharp County and a portion of Fulton County — totaled 1,520, according to Siebert.
