Mary Diane (Berger) McDaniel 67, of Batesville departed this life on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was born on December 4, 1956, to Johnny and Helen Loraine (McElya) Berger.
Mary enjoyed flower gardening, word search puzzles and swimming. She loved going fishing and in her younger years, she loved getting out and riding the back roads. The most important thing in her life was her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Brock Wayne Vanwinkle; her brothers, Johnny Berger, Christopher (Ham) Berger and Larry (Pete) Berger; her sisters, Patsy Burrow, Rosie Boone, Claire Crisler and Cathy Berger ; her sisters-in-law, Deborah Berger and Francis Berger.
She is survived by her son, Dean VanWinkle (Tina) of Diaz; her daughters, Penny Riggs (James) of Batesville, Bridgett Smith of Velvet Ridge and Becky Freeman of Batesville; her brothers, Jeffrey Berger of Bee Branch, Richard Berger of Bradford, and Dennis Berger of Sulphur Rock; her sisters, May Guinn of Bee Branch, Nancy Robertson of Bradford, Dorothy Northcutt of Strawberry and Teresa McMackin of Guy; her grandchildren, Stephanie Lay of Batesville, Hayley Palomar (Luis) of Searcy, Taylor Curtis of Batesville, Kane Spicer of Newport, Dawson VanWinkle of Newport, Tyler Gilmore (Morgan) of Bald Knob, Tara Clause (Scott) of Bald Knob, Jacob Gilmore (Sarah) of Searcy, Landon Gilmore of Bald Knob, Whitney Leasure of Batesville, Caleb Middleton (Audrey) of Sherman, Texas and Felicia Middleton of Oil Trough; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Allison,
Lillianna, Jose, Mason, Briella, Layton, Kynsley, Bynnleigh, Jaxleigh, Ryder, Blakeleigh, Aero, Skye and Revyn.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
