Lonnie Walter Shrum, 80, of Batesville passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Batesville. He was born September 2, 1942, in Pontiac, MI to Ernest W and Hazel M. (Looney) Shrum. He was self-employed with A1 Insulation and Siding until his retirement. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Batesville for many years where he served as a Deacon. Lonnie enjoyed playing pool, the Arkansas Razorbacks and going to church; he also loved traveling and family time.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Stroup.
Survivors include his wife Sue Shrum of the home; three sons, Steven Shrum (Janice Wheeler) of Newark, Rick Shrum (Veronica) of Sulphur Rock and Michael Shrum (Leila) of Cave City; one daughter, Julie Grady (Steve) of Sulphur Rock; one brother, Linwood Shrum (Betty) of Davidson, MI; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Robert Jones and Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Shrum, Derek Shrum, Trevor Shrum, Steve Grady, Cody Davis and John Clements.
