Dorothy Marie Herman, 60, of Newport passed from this life on March 6, 2023. She was born on February 20, 1963, to Jessie Lamar and Shirley Ann (Fitzgerald) Harris.
Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who was always taking care of someone. She took care of her children and grandchildren at home and was a Home Health Nurse who took care of her patients, like they were family, while at work. She enjoyed fishing when the weather was nice. Her favorite part of life was spending it playing with her grandchildren and her dog “Daisy”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jimmy Harris and her sister Carolyn Harris.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Hill (Tiffanie) of Jonesboro; her daughter, Destany Steele (Eric) of Newport; her grandchildren, Baylie Hill of Jonesboro, Reagan Hill of Jonesboro, Nicholas Steele of Newport, Addison Steele of Newport and Everly Steele of Newport; her sisters, Charlotte Sosa (Shorty) of Bruce, Mississippi, Brenda Newman (Kenneth) of Bay and Mary Seale (Travis) of Brookhaven, Mississippi.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
