A kindergarten teacher at Sulphur Rock Elementary is the March recipient of the Citizens Bank “Above & Beyond” Award.

Mindy Henley (pictured above, right, with Citizens Bank’s Ashley Engles) was presented with the award at Monday’s Batesville School Board meeting.

Henley makes sure her students are set up for success with thoughtfulness and patience, said a release from Citizens Bank.

The release noted:

A mentor to her colleagues, Henley’s actions do not go unnoticed. Her peers said:

  • “Mrs. Henley goes above and beyond for not only her students, but for her colleagues as well. She is always offering to help out wherever she is needed. She has so much patience for these young children. She is truly an inspiration to others.”
  • “Mindy Henley always sets high expectations for her students. She believes that ALL students can learn and thrive. She works many hours outside of school to ensure that she is prepared for the coming week. Her students are always orderly in the hallway and respectful of others. She is kind and thoughtful to her coworkers. Mindy is willing to help anyone. She is a great sounding board when problems arise and has suggestions for resolutions. Best of all, she always has a smile on her face, and she makes everyone feel special.”
  • “Mindy is a great mentor. She is kind and considerate to everyone. She has the patience of Job. She goes above and beyond for her students and her peers!”
  • “Mindy genuinely loves all of her students & coworkers. She would give to anyone in need & is always willing to help even if it’s not under her job title. She is one of a kind!”

Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges.

Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card, and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
