Lyon College will have its spring 2023 Career Expo for current students, alumni, and the community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, in the Becknell Gymnasium on the Lyon College campus, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
Recruiters from business and industry, as well as university graduate programs, will be on hand for the free event, which is designed to introduce both Lyon College students and other interested persons to potential future employers, internships, and graduate studies, the college said in a news release.
“We look forward to once again welcoming our employer and graduate school partners to our April 4 Career Expo,” said Patrick Lynch, director of Career Services at Lyon College. “Our October 2022 event had over 320 students attending. The feedback we received from students and exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive.”
Attendees are encouraged to update their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, wear professional business attire, create a list of target companies, research the companies, prepare insightful questions, and practice a 30-second elevator speech. (What’s an “elevator speech”? According to Princeton University, an “elevator speech” is “…a brief — think 30 seconds! — way of introducing yourself, getting across a key point or two, and making a connection with someone.”)
