Tornado relief drives underway throughout region

Relief efforts for Friday’s deadly tornadoes that struck Arkansas are being organized throughout the region. White River Now is compiling a list of donation drop-off locations and spreading the word through our radio station family, social media, and online reading audience.

If you know of a drop-off location, send the details to news@whiterivernow.com, and we will compile the information on-air and through our digital media.

Cedar Ridge FFA:

Drop off items at Cedar Ridge Ag Building or Harps in Newark (Monday thru Wednesday)

Items being collected:

●     Nails

●     Hammers

●     Shovels

●     Blankets

●     Tubs/Totes

●     Pillows

●     Extension Cords

●     Laundry Detergent

Southside 4-H Club and SMS Junior Beta Club:

Drop off items Monday morning (Goal is to fill a trailer and have it to Wynne by Monday afternoon)

Lincare, 2485 Harrison Street Suite 4, is collecting this week Monday-Friday from 8A-5P.  They will deliver Saturday, April 8th, directly to the Tornado Distribution Center set up in Wynne.

Regional Family Medicine in Mountain Home is accepting donations of items for the tornado victims in Wynne. They are particularly needing diapers, wipes, underwear, work gloves, paper products, first aid items, blankets, pillows, tarps, storage bins.

Friendship Baptist Church in Highland is accepting donations of personal hygiene items, water, cleaning supplies, tools, shovels and rakes, chainsaws, mops, and mop buckets. You may also make a monetary donation. Items will be collected at the church fellowship hall beginning at 9 AM Monday-Thursday this week.

Spring River Fine Furniture, 2379 Highway 62-412 in Highland is collecting items during the week. Their hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations will be taken to Wynne at the end of the week in the store’s delivery truck. Collected goods can include canned goods, trash bags, tarps, work gloves, etc.
