Batesville preschoolers will soon be able to experience a little bit of lush greenery in their own backyard.

Batesville High School alumni Justin Angel (above, right) has been awarded a grant for a nature walk at Batesville Preschool.

Angel has been awarded the “Mead & Hunt Cares Grant” worth $3,000. He plans to use the funds towards native plants and materials/supplies for a nature walk at the preschool.

Angel is the Arkansas market leader and a project manager for Mead & Hunt, a national Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firm specializing in an array of markets, including aviation, cultural resources, education, federal, food and beverage, justice, renewable energy, state & local, transportation, and water.

Angel spent six years living in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex before moving back to his hometown, Batesville. He is now starting Mead & Hunt’s first Arknasas-based office for a total of 44 offices nationwide.

“Mead & Hunt’s motto is ‘Take care of people. Do the right thing. Do what makes sense,’ and I can attest to this,” Angel said. “I wanted to bring something beneficial back to my community. For such a large and diverse professional firm, allowing me to start our first Arkansas-based office in Batesville, hiring and bringing back a former Batesville resident (and hopefully more in the future), and now receiving a grant for the Batesville Preschool, I think it speaks to our commitment to take care of people and communities, and I couldn’t be more thankful.”
