Lynne Alice Jeffery McCook 79, of Searcy formerly of Newport, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at her home. She was born January 17, 1944, to Jerry Henry and Dorcas Sue Harrison Jeffery.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry Henry and Dorcas Sue Harrison Jeffery and one brother Jerry Jeffery, Jr. Lynne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newport. She loved her family, her grandkids, and just helping other people. She also enjoyed the beach, cruises, and playing slot machines even if it was on the computer.
She is survived by her children: Jeffery Harrison McCook and wife Caroline of Sherwood, Christopher Ladd McCook of Magnolia, Susan Dorcas McCook Simmons of Searcy, bonus daughter; Linnie McCook of Benton, the father of her children, Shelby McCook, six grandchildren: Rachel McCook, Jesse Simmons, Alex McCook, Bailey McCook, Justin Simmons, and Riley McCook. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren, and two lifelong friends: Betty Umsted Young and Lorita Heatherly.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation starting at 9 am until service.
