A concert celebrating Mountain View’s young and rising stars will be part of this weekend’s Arkansas Folk Festival.

The Next Generation concert will be held Saturday, April 15, at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.

State Fiddle Champion Kailee Spickes (pictured above, right) and longtime Mountain View musical artist Pam Setser (pictured above, left) recently visited with Wes Gwaltney on Arkansas 103.3 KWOZ’s Slightly Scrambled morning show to perform and talk about the upcoming concert.

Setser will be performing as part of the acclaimed folk duo, Apple & Setser, while Spickes will be performing with the group, 5 South.

Listen to their interview below.

The benefit concert is sponsored by the Committee of 100 to raise money for the Music Roots Program in Mountain View Public Schools. The Committee of One Hundred is made up of women from across the state who have devoted time and raised funds for ongoing programs at the Folk Center, including craft apprenticeships, the Music Roots Program, the Heritage Herb Garden, and other projects that support the park’s mission.
