Batesville man charged with two felonies after apartment break-in

A Batesville man is facing charges after authorities say he allegedly entered a neighbor’s apartment by force and physically attacked him.

According to information from Independence County Circuit Court, Rocky Wesley Duncan, 42, allegedly entered his neighbor’s apartment in Batesville on the morning of April 11 with a knife and a firearm and attacked the resident.

After a struggle between the two and another resident of the apartment, Duncan was pushed out of the residence, and the door was locked behind him, the court info said.

The court information noted the apartment door was split from being kicked open, and the lock was damaged.

Duncan was arrested at the scene after Batesville Police officers were dispatched to the incident. He has been charged with two felonies: residential burglary and possession of a firearm by a certain person. Duncan’s bond has been set at $25,000.
