Elbert Lee Gay, 78, of Saffell passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in Saffell. He was born November 3, 1944, in Shelbyville, Arkansas to L.J. and Tootsie (Asberry) Gay. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Kara Shayne Watts.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Gay (Keeli) of Smithville; his daughter, Lisa Watts (Shane) of Strawberry; one brother, Bobby Joe Gay (Mary) of Cave City; two sisters, Sharon Kay Palmer and Kathy Ann Huskey (Randy) all of Cave City; four grandchildren, William Levi Watts (Ashley), Ashlyn Bruce (Michael), Lane Baxter Lee Gay (Lorah Jean) and Evie Rae Robbins (Austin); thirteen great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Milligan Campground Cemetery with Mike Hoggard officiating.
Pallbearers will be Levi Watts, Lane Gay, Michael Bruce, Austin Robbins and Lawson Bruce.
Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren, Billy Dwayne Girtman and Larry Asberry.
