The 17th Red Hot Ladies Luncheon, held April 14 at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, raised $15,500 in donations to benefit the White River Health Women’s Clinic.

The proceeds will help purchase two butterfly portable ultrasound units. With the help of the new units, physicians and nurse practitioners will be able to see more patients and decrease wait time for ultrasounds.

The Red Hot Ladies Luncheon is presented by Citizens Bank. Representatives from the Red Hot Committee — Kay Southerland, Joyce Prickett, Amanda Cash, Paula Terrell, and Alicia Williams — along with Betina Ramsey and Ashley Engles of Citizens Bank presented the White River Health Women’s Clinic staff with the proceeds last week. White River Health Women’s Clinic staff members include Angela Burleson, APRN; Caroline Carolton, MD; Kathrine Appleget, MD; Mandy Brock, APRN; Janice Harper, office manager; Michele Vanwinkle; Lisa Melton, clinic director, and Stacy Pollack, MD.

Since its inception as “The Go Red for Women” luncheon in 2006, this series of ladies’ events has raised approximately $160,000 for various non-profit organizations that serve the health-related needs of women and their families in Batesville, Independence County, and the surrounding communities. The luncheons raise awareness about issues impacting women’s lives and inspire them to make positive changes and commit to a healthy lifestyle.
