Troy Pruitt, a devoted family man and skilled mechanic, passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 71. He was a resident of Diaz, Arkansas and was born on March 15, 1952, to Henry and Kathrine Pruitt.
Troy was of the Baptist faith and was baptized through New Hope Church in Tuckerman. He was known for his mechanical skills and enjoyed working on vehicles, especially taking great care to ensure every detail was perfect. In his free time, he loved to barbecue on the grill and was always ready for a game of horseshoes. However, his greatest pride and joy were his family. Troy cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren above all else.
Sadly, Troy had experienced the loss of many loved ones before his passing, including his parents, son Quinton Troy Pruitt, brothers Henry Pruitt Jr., Leroy Pruitt, and Willie David Pruitt, and sisters Mary Frances Alexander, Mae Dean Phillips, Dora Marshall, Linda Ann Pruitt, Brenda Pruitt, and Mary Pruitt, as well as one great-grandchild.
Troy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Priscilla Brown Pruitt, who was his soulmate and constant companion. He is also survived by his daughters, Angie Pruitt Fiveland of Minnesota, Shenika Foots and husband Paris of Beebe, Nakita Pruitt of Newport, Natasha Pruitt of Newport, and Taelehs Williams of Newport. His brothers, Charles Pruitt and wife Sylvialene of Newport, Jimmy Pruitt and wife Sonya of Memphis, and Edward Pruitt (Sharon) of Newport, and his sisters, Thelma Parker of Cleveland, Betty Green and husband Jimmy of Newport, and Shirley Walker and husband Loyce of Diaz also survive him. Additionally, Troy leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and happiness.
The funeral service for Troy Pruitt will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home, with interment at New Hope Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Troy will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and dedication to family and friends will live on.
