Frank Lamar Marshall III, 74, passed away on May 13, 2023. He was born in Memphis, TN, on September 6, 1948, to Frank and Mildred Marshall.
Frank was an honorable and good man, that adopted four children as his own. He loved his family and wanted the best for them. He loved family get-togethers and often talked about family reunions, as they meant so much to him. He was also a proud Army veteran who received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (M-45 Pistol), Expert Badge (M-14), and Good Conduct Metal. Frank was also a “rail enthusiast,” musician, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by those that loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Marshall Jr and Mildred Bailey; stepfather, Johnny Johnson; and uncle, Howard Bailey. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra N. Berg of Hampstead, NC and Tia L. Justice of Boiling Springs Lakes, NC; sons, Ralph (Chris) Marshall of Boiling Springs Lakes, NC and Shane Marshall of Leland, NC; sister, Frankye Walker of Newark, AR; nephew, Mike Steed (Teresa) of Newark, AR; as well as, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-niece, five great-nephews, and sixteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, Mississippi, on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Jack Marshall, will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Friday 19, 2023, at 2 p.m.
