“The 45th Annual Andy Buschmann 4 Mile Classic” will be held on Saturday, June 3. Previously known as the “White River 4 Mile Classic,” the community race has been held for almost half a century. In 2021, the race was renamed in honor of Andy Buschmann, who race directors say participated, alongside Jack Heston, in the four-mile run each year.
“Their commitment to the race remained unwavering, even in the face of August heat. Jack Heston and Andy’s family members continue to participate in the race to honor Andy’s memory,” organizers note.
Buschmann was known for his dedication to health and fitness and his contributions as a pharmacist and a volunteer sheriff’s deputy.
As a loving husband, father, friend, and “G-Daddy,” Andy touched the lives of many through his musical talents and warm personality, race directors said.
Sponsorship for the Andy Buschmann 4 Mile Classic is greatly appreciated. Last year’s generous donations made a significant impact, and continued support is invaluable. The race proceeds will once again benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Independence County, an organization committed to empowering, protecting, and healing child abuse victims.
The mission of the CAC aligns with the pressing needs of Independence County, and the community takes pride in supporting this cause.
