Loyd Lonnie ”Jim Dick” Johnson, 94, of Mount Pleasant passed away on May 25, 2023.
He was born September 17, 1928, in Mount Pleasant to Clemon Calvin and Verta Lavona (Moser) Johnson.
Loyd worked for 36 years at Arkansas Lime as a train engineer. He was a gregarious person who loved his family and lived his life his way. He and his wife were married for 71 years and 3 days. Loyd was always the center of attention, never met a stranger, loved to hunt and trade, and loved his dogs. Loyd was a great storyteller.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 22, 1952, Betty (Hames) Johnson of the home; two sons, Dicky Johnson (Robin) of Beebe, Chris Johnson (Mary Jo) of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Nina Jackson (Kirk) of Maumelle, Joy Lacy (Courtney) of Batesville; nine grandchildren, Laddie Hunter, Amanda Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Joe Allan Johnson, Blake Johnson, Elizabeth Mickle, Laura-Leigh Moser, and Wade Moore: numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Magdalene Moser, and one grandson, Kyle Moore.
Pallbearers are Laddie Hunter, Joe Allan Johnson, Wade Moore, Blake Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Zachary Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Cole, Robert Spence, and Cecil Gay.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Reeves Pine Grove Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Chase Duncan and Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow at Reeves Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
