Lynn W. Melton, 89, of Batesville passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023.
He was born on August 20, 1933, in Brockwell, AR to John Henry Melton and Jeffie (Blevins) Melton.
Lynn was a Christian and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville for 73 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed Cardinal Baseball and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Norma (Stephens) Melton; two sons, Jackie (Brenda) Melton of Edgemont, Arkansas and David (Nita) Melton of Maumelle, Arkansas; one daughter Cindy (Mark) Martindale of Benton, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Christopher (Hannah) Martindale, Ashley Martindale, Faith (fiancé, Bryan Honeck) Melton, and Tyler Melton; one brother, Shelby ”Chip” Melton (Sharon) of Batesville; and one sister, Myram Brewer (TA) of Springdale, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Tommy Melton, Willard Melton and Bill Melton.
Pallbearers are Christopher Martindale, Tyler Melton, Dr. Lackey Moody, Tommy Harris, Nickey Melton and Mark Martindale.
Honorary pallbearers are Max Rutledge and Autry McIlroy.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Stephan Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at Alderbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the funeral home just prior to service.
