Robert Louis Lake,70, was born July 27, 1952, in Newport, Arkansas.  He was the son of the late Henry Louis Lake and Sarah V. Jones Lake. He joined Pleasant Briar Fork Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  He later joined God’s House of Prayer, where he remained a member until his passing.

Robert attended Blacksville School until he transferred to Newport High School and became a 1970 Newport Greyhound graduate.  After he graduated, he became a truck driver for H & V Trucking, until his health failed.

Later in his life, Robert met the love of his life, Regina Brown.  In July 1988 they got married.  For the next 35 years, they did everything together.  Robert loved to drive her around.  He drove her back and forth to work for years.  Any chance they could get, they traveled together.

Robert had a big heart.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He enjoyed watching his favorite shows, Gunsmoke and Andy Griffin.  Robert also enjoyed watching the horse races and the dog races.  He enjoyed attending sporting events to watch his children and grandchildren play.  Robert loved going on family trips and he loved attending family reunions.  Robert loved to go buy lottery tickets and his excuse for buying them was that he was supporting the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.  Robert’s all-time favorite thing to do was sit in his favorite chair and play Candy Crush on his iPad.

Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents; one son, Justin Brown; two sisters, Claudette Lake and Mary Pridgett and one brother, David Price.
