A White River Now reader has sent along video from last night capturing the SpaceX Dragon capsule returning to Earth after a 10-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
The video (watch below), taken around 10 p.m., shows an orange-tipped object streaking across the night sky over the Course at Eagle Mountain in Batesville.
The capsule, commanded by former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and carrying three other crewmates, landed in the Gulf of Mexico off the Panama City, Fla., coast at 10:04 p.m. CST. The private mission included eight days docked at the orbiting ISS. The Dragon capsule had undocked from the ISS about 12 hours earlier on Tuesday.
