Melba (Wells) Witt, 88 of Jonesboro, formerly Harrisburg departed this life on June 1, 2023, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on September 11, 1934, in Leechville Arkansas the daughter of Marvin and Myrtle (Pickering) Wells. Melba was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith, she enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening, playing Bingo and dancing. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Terry Witt and Gerald Witt, one daughter, Sharon Dohner, two brothers: Earl Wells and Jim Wells, and three sisters: Carolyn Whaley, Wilma Donnelly, and Eva Wells. Melba is survived by 5 sons: Larry Witt of Harrisburg, Joe Witt of Parkin, Jimmy Witt of Amagon, Donnie Witt and Ronnie Witt also of Harrisburg, two daughters: Shirley (Bill) Witt of Harrisburg and Karen (Clay) Hubbard of Jonesboro, one brother, Buddy Wells of Troy, Missouri, two sisters: Dorothy Gunter of South Haven, Mississippi, Christine Brown of Harrisburg, 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023, at Jackson’s Funeral Home Harrisburg from 12:30 until Service Time. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P. M. with Bro. Chance Watson conducting the service. The interment will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Ryan Witt, Chris Rial, Luke Massengill, Zack Witt, Karry Witt, and Sam Massengill. Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers are “The Bungalow Staff” Arrangements are by Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home.
