Brenda (Thompson) Holt of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born May 1, 1946, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of Everett and Donnie (Bales) Thompson.
She was a graduate of Newport High School. When she was 50 years old, she made the decision to go to college, attending Black River Technical College. She worked as a respiratory therapist for Harris Hospital, where she retired after 19 years of service.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her yard and flower beds. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.
She was a member of the Swifton Church of Christ. She taught Sunday school classes there throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Leonard Thompson and Frank Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby Holt of the home; one son, Anthony Holt and wife, Camille of Clinton; one daughter, Joy Holt and partner, Jill Jackson of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Corey Holt and wife Heather of Fort Smith, and Julie Holt Heckethorn and husband, David, of Brookland; two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Dawson Heckethorn; two brothers, Coy Lee Thompson and wife Laneta of Trumann, and Kenny Thompson and wife, Dianna of Campbell Station; many nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The Men of Swifton Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
