Helen Sandy Matlock, 86, of Batesville, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023.
She was born August 10, 1936, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas to William H. Sandy and Leola B. (Bunn) Sandy.
Helen was of the Pentecostal faith and attended First Church of Batesville. She was a factory worker at Leaf Manufacturing for many years. She was a strong-willed and feisty lady. She was a mother to all, a loving sister, and always so thoughtful. She loved her family and especially loved her time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed singing and playing music.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Paul Brand of Batesville; brother, Rev. James Sandy (Patricia) of Southaven, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Christina, Alicia, Tiffany, Jessica, Jonathan, Stephanie, Melissa, and Christy; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Matlock; son, Glenn Brand; two brothers, Joel Sandy and Eugene Sandy and four sisters, Esther Abbott, Ethelene Finstead, Evelyn Williams, and Linda Matlock.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Rev. James Sandy and Rev. MD Parmley officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Charlotte.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, prior to service at the funeral home.
