Dana Carol Dillingham-Alcorn 61, of Conway, passed away June 30, in Conway. She was born December 12, 1961, in Newport to Tom and Lucille Dillingham. Dana was a 1980 Newport High School graduate then furthered her education at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1985. Dana was a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools where she taught elementary English, Social Studies, and coached Cheerleading. Dana found her Christianity at an early age and proclaimed it throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking (especially fried chicken and her homemade peach cobbler), shopping, and traveling to see family. She loved family reunions and holiday gatherings with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Tom and Lucille Dillingham, one sister; Diane Williams Murrell; 5 brothers; Johnny B. Eslinger, Robert Lake, Charles Eslinger, Herbert Eslinger and wife Theresa, and David Price.
Dana is survived by her husband; Alvin Alcorn of Detroit, MI, one son; Jeremy C. Spearmon of Detroit, MI, one daughter; Kasey T. Jaracz and husband Michael of Conway, step children; Amesha Alcorn, Andrea Alcorn, Dentria Ross, one brother; Larry Anders (Rodell) of Newport, four sisters; Ruth T. Brown, Lenese Price, Barbara Eslinger, all of Newport, Brenda Taylor, of Springfield, MO, four grandchildren; Micah C. Jaracz, Miland L. Jaracz, Alivia K. Spearmon, Sevyn D. Spearmon, and special cousins; Darrell White, Arphlue Coburn and Chester Coburn; godson, Aaron Higginbotham; special friends, Tommy “Pappy” Lopp, Sandy Jeffries and Cherise Higginbotham; and a host of family and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Robinson, Michael Alcorn Jr., Steven Taylor, Leo Pressley, Daniel Roberts, Tremell Johnson, Ted Johnson, Quincy Person. Honorary pallbearers are Gerry Alcorn, Leroy Mansko and Delbert Coburn.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Friday, July 7, at the Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with interment in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 7 p.m.
