James “Gary” Gleaves, 62, of Pleasant Plains went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Roberta Louise Moore and James Arthur Gleaves on August 25, 1960. Gary attended Foothills Vo-Tech in Searcy and worked many years at ConAgra Foods in Batesville. He was a member of the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He loved being “Papaw” to his grandkids.
Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Gleaves; their two daughters, Sara Westbrook (Rickie) and Amy Vaughn; four grandchildren, Logan and Hudson Westbrook and Jayden and Madilyn Lindsey.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Curt Howard and Bro. Shannon Fennell officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Plains with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Randal Moore, Steve Moore, Wade Reaves, Rickie Westbrook, Andy Martin and Matt Martin.
The honorary pallbearer is Troy Ring.
