Michael Amedee Chabrison, 75, of Cord, AR, died on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born on March 24, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to the late Amedee Francis Chabrison and Wilhelmena Marie (Hanson) Chabrison and was of the Catholic faith. Michael served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marines Corps. He was very proud of his military service, especially being a Marine. He celebrated the Marine Corps birthday every year and was a true patriot. Michael was also very proud of the fact that he helped build the original buildings of “Fort Steer” in Cord (meant to be a housing facility for veterans), which would later become the facilities for John 3:16 Ministries. Some of Michael’s hobbies include hunting and fishing, he enjoyed being outdoors. But out of all his hobbies and passions, the thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Michael is preceded in death by both of his parents; his daughter, Michelle Renee Holbrook; and his ex-wife, Kathryn Cale. He is survived by his two daughters, Laura Chabrison and Nicole Chabrison; his sister, Mary Francis Bond; his 5 grandchildren, Ashley Holbrook, Justin Holbrook, Quinton Bodiford, Brice Bodiford, and Micha Winberry; one great-grandson, Cayden Hopkins; and several extended family members and friends.
Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville. A visitation at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel will be on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 11 AM until 1 PM. There will be a graveside service, with military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps, at Charlotte Cemetery in Charlotte, AR that same day at 2 PM. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Larry Edley, Dan Mauldin, Danny Joe Winberry, Jim Bob Byrd, Heath Heidie, and Keith Bodiford. The family would like to recognize the following persons as honorary pallbearers: Quinton Bodiford, Brice Bodiford, Justin Holbrook, and Kyle Hunter.
