Alicia Skipper (pictured) has been selected as the next principal of Southside Elementary School, the Southside School District announced a release on Thursday.

Skipper previously served as the counselor for Southside Elementary for the last six years.

Prior to that role, she served as a first and second-grade teacher at the elementary school for 13 years. Skipper is married to Brandon Skipper. They are the parents of children, Asher and Andon.

In the release, the district said Skipper has “…shown her strong connection and love for every student throughout her tenure with Southside School District.”

“The children are our most important focus, and I aim to lead by example as I greatly value the Golden Rule and teach every student how important it is to treat others lovingly with kindness and respect,” she said. “As elementary principal, I will work to ensure our student achievement success trajectory continues to rise through positive guidance and teamwork with our students, faculty, and staff.”

“As a district, we are confident in Mrs. Skipper’s leadership as she steps into the role as elementary principal,” said Superintendent Dion Stevens. “Knowing Mrs. Skipper’senthusiasm and commitment to the students and staff, we are honored to have her guiding the future stories of our young Southerners.”

The release said that former elementary principal Kimberly Poole is joining the Northcentral Arkansas Education Service Cooperative as the literacy specialist.
