Charles Hale Webb, 88, of Hot Springs passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

He was born January 22, 1935, in Oxford, Arkansas to Gordon and Cloice (King) Webb.

Charles was a man of many names, Dad, Charlie, Chuck, Cowboy, Coach, and many other names while his players ran bleachers. He played a little semi-pro ball but couldn’t hit a curve ball, said Betty Lee. Charles loved to go to baseball games with his wife and attended spring training every year for several years. He was a loyal and giving friend and a rock to his family. He loved his church and served as an elder at Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Charles was a big supporter of Lyon College who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and loved to travel with his wife. He was a bus driver. He coached at Cushman for 30 years and was a coach and mentor to many of his students and ball players, but most of all he was a dad, grandfather, and friend to many.

Survivors include one son, Tony Webb (Carol) of Cabot; one daughter, Tracy Webb Rice (Paul) of Hot Springs National Park; one brother, Randy Webb (Nicky) of Calico Rock; three grandchildren, Tanner, Tatum, and Thea Rice as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and lifetime friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Lee Webb.

Pallbearers are Larry Kimmer, Bryan Moser, Elbert Lindsey, Keith Shelton, Charlie Traub, Danny Franks, Terry Clark, and Paul Kimmer. Honorary pallbearers are the former basketball players at Cushman High School.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 17, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rian Puckett and Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3895 Harrison St, Batesville, AR. 72501.
