Investigators are trying to determine how a 3-year-old was apparently abandoned Sunday morning in Independence County.
The Independence County Sheriff’s Department says someone located the boy by a gate around Collier Lane around 12 p.m. on Sunday. Later that afternoon, the sheriff’s department reported the child’s caretaker had been located, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
