A Fox, Ark. woman reported missing since Monday has been located and is safe, according to the Stone County Sheriff’s Department.

Law enforcement officials say they were able to make contact with Rebecca Hunter, 65, of Fox, early Wednesday evening after investigating multiple tips and sightings. The sheriff’s department also says certain aspects of the disappearance are still being investigated.

Earlier, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department said Hunter had been reported missing around 7 p.m. on Monday. Family members say Hunter (pictured) wandered off from her McElroy Road residence in Fox and never returned.

Sheriff Brandon Long says a ground team was assembled shortly after receiving the report, and a search was conducted in the area.

A K9 team from the Arkansas Department of Corrections later assisted deputies, and an aerial search was then conducted with assistance from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office. Those initial searches yielded no results.

In a post on social media, the sheriff’s department recognized the Arkansas Department of Corrections North Central Unit K9 Team, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department, the Clinton Police Department, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the search for Hunter.
