Dorothy “Dot” Mansko, 69, of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. She was born in Sallis, Mississippi on December 15, 1953, to Nora Stewart Jr. and Jeanetta (Young) Stewart.
She was a dedicated school teacher who left her mark on many children throughout her teaching career. She was a devoted Christian woman and member of the Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist. Dorothy was active in the choir, missionary society, and many other church functions. She loved being at home with her family, reading her bible, cooking, decorating, and working in her flower bed. She loved spending time with her family, holidays were always her favorite, along with family reunions and trips with her sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Stewart and Willie James Stewart.
She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Leroy Mansko Jr., of the home; sons, Marcus Mansko of Newport, and Jermaine Mansko (Keta) of Conway; daughter, Jasmine Mansko of Bryant; brothers, Norah Stewart III (Georgia), Billy Stewart (Elouise), Ricky Stewart (Dyan), Marvin Stewart (Gloria), Mark Stewart (Bobbie)and Carl Stewart; sisters, Bobby Balentine (Ernest), Eliece Rayborn (James), Alice Hart (Derwin), Annie Teague (Sullus) and Jacqueline Holliday (Gregory); her half-sisters, Simone Stewart and Belinda Stewart; grandchildren, Nylah Tidwell, Breyona Mansko and Rayvon Summage; special friends, Sandra Elston (deceased), Ollie Jackson, Wavis Griffith, Grace Corley, Willie White, Rodell Anders, Gwen Brandon, Carrie Taylor, Sabrina Brown, Sharon Henry, Shirley Williams, Arphlue Coburn and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Service will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 4:00 – 5:00 for the family and 5:00 – 7:00 for friends.
