Betty Jo Fisher, 88, of Newport passed from this life on Thursday, August 10, 2023. She was born in Clinton, Arkansas on August 26, 1934, to James M. Barnett and Naomi Inez (Barnett) Prine and Auddie Prine.
Betty was a homemaker, who worked at the shoe factory in Newport for a few years, she also volunteered at Harris Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member of the Holden Avenue Church of Christ. She loved working in her flowers, enjoying their beauty and the happiness they brought her. She loved her family and relished the time she got to spend with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Harold Dean Fisher; her daughter, Chyril Fisher; two sons, Infant Ricky Dean Fisher and Marlon Fisher; her brothers, Bill Barnett, Jack Prine, Donnie Prine, Ronnie Prine and Auddie Deyvon Prine.
She is survived by her son, Mitchell Fisher and his wife Elaine of Newport; three grandchildren, Allison Beard of Jonesboro, Kristi Mathis of Southside and Gage Davidson of Springfield, Missouri and seven great-grandchildren, Conner Beard, Spencer Walker, Charlee Walker-Beard, AJ Walker-Beard, Bladyn Walker-Beard, River Mathis and Max Davidson; many nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brent Hite, James Roberts, Doug Cockrill, Mike Prine, James Prine and Bruce Long.
Service will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home with Brother Justin Rutledge officiating. The interment will be at Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
