Gary Neal London, 65, of Jonesboro departed this life on Friday, August 11, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1957, to Coy & Virginia London.
Gary grew up in Jonesboro where he played football for the Jonesboro Hurricanes. In his youth, he had many adventures with his friends Tim, Danny, Barney, Stanley, Freddie, and his brother Dwain – many of which aren’t allowed to be retold. During this time, Gary earned the nickname “Big Time” because according to some, he was always the ringleader.
Gary spent his adult life as a master plumber. He worked for over 20 years at Facilities Management at Arkansas State University, where he ultimately retired for health-related reasons. Gary also owned a backflow business with his dear friend Robert for over 25 years.
Gary married Teresa on September 29, 1983, and together they raised four sons: Matt, Wade, Cole & Lyle.
Gary loved to hunt, fish, and trap spending many days at White River Refuge and the family cabin. He loved barbequed beaver and in his later years he enjoyed wasting bullets.
He was a devoted dad. He was proud to coach his boys in Little League and 4H shooting sports. As his boys got older, he baked thousands of Mississippi mud cookies for his boys & the Pocahontas Redskins football team.
Gary enjoyed spending time with his family during the holidays, whether that was a fish fry or Christmas at the cabin.
He will be remembered as a man with a fierce spirit, but a gentle soul. His love of the outdoors and his family are just a few things he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Coy Neal London. He is survived by his mother; Virginia London of Jonesboro, the mother of his children; Teresa London of Jonesboro, four sons; Matt London and wife Nicole of Trumann, Wade London and wife Morgan of Steelville, Missouri, Cole London and wife Brooke of Pocahontas, and Lyle London and wife Emily of Jonesboro, grandchildren; Cameron, Mason, Virginia, Walker, Boyce, Weston, Harlan, Quincy and another on the way; brother, Jimmy Dwain London of Imboden; sister, Rhonda Denise London of Jonesboro.
