George Eugene Lawrence, 71, of Newark passed from this life on August 11, 2023. He was born in Marked Tree on June 24, 1952, to Barney and Pearl (Peterson) Lawrence.
George was a beloved father, brother and grandfather who enjoyed time spent with his family. He was a hardworking man throughout his lifetime and even in his later years still enjoyed working in his yard. He loved to go fishing. He also loved tinkering around on his various projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Barney Lawrence Jr., and Roy Lawrence and his sister, Faye Darby.
He is survived by the love of his life for over 52 years, Brenda Smith; his son, Jason Lawrence of Alabama; his daughters, Kimberly Vanwinkle (Roger) of Newark, Julie Chabirson of Newport, Melissa Cabanas of Batesville, and Gloria Lawrence of Texas; his sisters, Tammy Haney of Wynne, Nelda Davis of Forrest City and Linda Lawrence of Forrest City; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
There will be a Visitation 2:from 00 – 4:00 on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel.
