Obituary: Malcolm Gray Ford

Malcolm Gray Ford, 94, of Batesville, AR, died on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Malcolm was born in Batesville, to the late Robert “Bob” Ford and Lois (Gray) Broadstreet. Malcolm was of the Christian faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War era. Malcolm was a true patriot and was very proud of his military service. He was also a member of the American Legion. Malcolm was always a hard worker. In his teens, he helped dig graves by hand at Oaklawn Cemetery. After his military service, Malcolm would go to work in the pipeline field. He worked for over 50 years in that field, working into his seventies, and even worked on the Alaskan pipeline. In his spare time, Malcolm liked to hunt, fish, make turkey calls, hunt for arrowheads, and explore the outdoors. He will truly be missed by all of those who were blessed to know him.

Malcolm is preceded in death by both his parents; his stepfather, James Broadstreet; his brother, David Ford; his sister, Ellen Fay Prothro; and his son, Matthew Holley. He is survived by his children, Cindy Williams (Don), Tina Stacey (Ron), Monty Holley (Ann) Mark Holley (Darla), and Lisa Lindner (Fred); his brothers, Robert Ford, and Charles Dale Ford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Services are entrusted to Willis Funeral Service of Batesville, AR. There will be a graveside service, with military honors rendered, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, AR.
