A Southside resident will represent the Down syndrome community in a national video presentation in New York City’s Times Square next month.
According to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), Autumn Henderson (pictured) will appear in the society’s annual Times Square Video Presentation on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The one-hour video of roughly 500 photographs includes children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states. According to the NDSS, the collective images promote the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome in a very visible way.
The photo of Autumn Henderson was selected from more than 2,400 entries in the NDSS worldwide call for photos.
Autumn’s photo will be shown on two JumboTron screens in the heart of Times Square. The presentation will be live-streamed on the National Down Syndrome Society Facebook page from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. CST.
