Clarence Edward Ruffins, 73, of Newport departed this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was born in Newport on July 15, 1950, to Zaniel and Lorine (Rainey) Ruffins.
Clarence was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He loved his family dearly and was always ready to spend quality family time with them. He enjoyed his lifelong work of being a mechanic. He worked at both Brown Jordan and American Lantern factories in Newport. In his spare time Clarence enjoyed reading his bible and listening to music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Bettina Christian Patterson, his brothers, Gary Dean Ruffins, and Carl Ruffins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mae Irish Ruffins; his sons, Clarence Demond Ruffins of Jonesboro, Jeremy Ruffins of Bald Knob, and Alex Ruffins (Adriana) of Jonesboro; his sisters, Billtress Lavern Hanson of Little Rock, Barbara Jean Thompson of Lufkin, Texas, and La’Dyne Doss/Murry of Camden; his grandchildren, Niko Ruffins, Jana Ruffins, Jericka Ruffins, Olaniyan Ruffins, Journey Ruffins, Roark Ruffins, Danika Ruffins, Alex Zanyel Ruffins, Adan Kuykendall, Atticus Edward Ruffins, Bryan Patterson Jr. and Tera Williams; and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 5618 Summer Place in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
