Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery says the completion date for the Johnson Hollow Road project in Locust Grove has shifted to a few weeks later than originally projected.
White River Materials has been awarded the contract to help rebuild the entrance to the road off Highway 25 to accommodate truck traffic from the new Independent Stave Company. The county is responsible for a percentage of matching work, as detailed by the Delta Regional Authority grant for the project.
The bypass (detour) from Johnson Hollow Road to Highway 230 (Locust Grove Road) for traffic is complete (pictured below). Jeffery says White River Materials has indicated the tentative start date for their part of the project will be the first week of September with an expected completion date of 30 to 60 days.
