Douglas Willie Bradford of Grubbs, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born May 3, 1943, in Cash, Arkansas, the son of Willie Bradford and Norma Josie (Bell) Fecker.
On February 14, 1964, Mr. Bradford married Miss Alma Diane Summers, and together they spent 59 years, building a life and raising their children.
Mr. Bradford attended Grubbs High School and was of the Baptist belief. He began working at Revere and saw the company through many changes, becoming Victor Metal and then Everett Corporation. Mr. Bradford was also a self-employed car salesman at his family-owned business, Bradford Auto Sales.
Mr. Bradford enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. He loved cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dianna J. George; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Bradford.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Diane (Summers) Bradford, of the home; one son, Douglas Bradford, Jr., of Grubbs; one daughter, Dana Bradford Davis and husband, Danny, of Newport; five grandchildren, Jordan Bristow and wife, Lacy, Jalynn Bradford and wife, Emily, Rilee Bradford and Matt Moody, Kourtney Lloyd, and Kolby Lloyd and wife, Adrian; nine great-grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends.
The Bradford family would like to thank special nurses, Kimberly Clark and Brandy Thomas, for their love and care.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday evening, 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Noyal Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Holloway Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Rick Easley, Bryan Jones, Bob McAdams, Chad Sutherland, Steven Stallnacker, and Henry Brownfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Best and Larry Jordan.
