Russell Sanford Moyer, 86, of Sulphur Rock, departed this life on Thursday, August 30, 2023. He was born in Graniteville, Missouri, on September 14, 1936, to Russell and Ann Ruple Moyer.
During his working years, he was a Maintenance Superintendent in the mining industry. He and Maxine Moyer were united in marriage on September 10, 2008, at the Sulphur Rock Baptist Church.
Russell proudly served our country in the Air Force and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Southside. He loved fishing, hunting, especially bird hunting, and playing golf. He and his father would hunt yearly in North Dakota, and he often played golf three days a week.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of the home; his son, Mark (Cressey) Moyer, of Morrilton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Moyer.
There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, September 3, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Dailey is officiating.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until service time at the church.
