Obituary: Terry Mitts

Mrs. Terry Jean (Bauch) Mitts of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 59. She was born February 2, 1964, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon Edward Bauch and Pauline (Sharp) Bauch.

Mrs. Mitts was a 1981 graduate of West High School in Rockford, Illinois. She attended Black River Technical College and earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Mitts worked at Arkansas Steel for over 25 years as a nurse.

Mrs. Mitts enjoyed reading and spending time outdoors. Her family was her pride and joy and she looked forward to their vacations together and especially loved having her grandchildren over for sleepovers. She truly loved her family with everything she had.

Mrs. Mitts was preceded in death by her parents; and her father and mother-in-law, Gerald Odell Mitts and Alvalene (Lawson) Mitts.

She is survived by her husband, Perry Mitts, of the home; two daughters, Tera Blevins and Craig Crider of Swifton, and Chandra Templeton and husband, Nick, of Swifton; one son, Payton Mitts and wife, Amanda, of Diaz; six grandchildren, Caden and Chase Templeton, Jett and Presley Crider, and Josie and Luke Mitts; two sisters, Pauleitta Heisler of Rockford, Illinois and Shandra Higgins and husband, Tim, of Swifton; nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, Kayla Heisler, Jenna McKay, Tessa Higgins, Savanah Higgins, Emma Johnson, Jill Church and husband, Dustin, Ben Jiles and wife, Lauren, and Justin Tharpe and wife, Anna; a host of many great nieces and nephews, relatives, and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Bryce Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Arnold Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are James Russell, Bobby Gilmore, Shane Watts, Jeramy Johnson, Mark Ogden, and John Wayne Pettit.
