A mud event supporting wounded warriors opens today at a local off-road park.

“Muddin’ for the Military,” which lasts through Sunday, Sept. 17, is being held at the Greasy Bend Off-Road Park, 300 Meade Road.

The event is held each year at an ATV park, and for 2023, Greasy Bend Off-Road Park (GBOP) has been named the new home park for Muddin’ for the Military. (Visit the Muddin’ for the Military website here.)

Muddin’ for the Military is a Texas-based organization that is the principal fundraiser for Lone Star Warriors Outdoors, a non-profit organization helping veterans with PTSD recovery and suicide prevention.

Muddin’ for the Military will feature a poker run, a “show-n-shine,” a bounty course, a sound competition, the Blind Bandit Race, and on Saturday, Sept. 16, a concert headlined by country performing artist and Air Force veteran Ryan Daniel (pictured), beginning at 6 p.m. The band, Greasy Tree, will open the show.

There will also be a night ride on Saturday with Daniel after the concert.

This year, a nationally televised off-road program will be on-location, filming all the action. There will also be an auction, raffle, and other special events throughout the weekend.

A weekend pass for Muddin’ for the Military is $70. To attend the Saturday concert only, admission is $20. An ATV is not needed to watch concerts, mud events, or racing. Greasy Bend has gravel roads that lead to these areas.

Lone Star Warriors Outdoors takes combat-injured U.S. veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq on all-expense-paid hunting trips, golf events, and mud events. Visit their website here.

Greasy Bend Off-Road Park is an ATV and UTV venue on 1,200 acres with a mix of mud, sand, bluffs, rocky trails, and several miles of White River frontage in Rosie, Ark.

The park has 70 miles of trails with various terrain, including sharp turns, inverted climbs, odd angles, and novice trails. At GBOP, drivers and passengers can travel from deep within the forest to the sandy beach of the White River in a matter of minutes. Visit their website here.
