A producer of an Academy Award-nominated film focusing on a single mother fighting alcoholism is scheduled to attend a free screening of the movie this week at the Melba Theater in Batesville.

“To Leslie,” a 2022 film starring Andrea Risebourugh, Marc Maron, and Allison Janney, will be shown Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Melba, which is located at 115 W. Main St. in Batesville.

Risebourugh received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance of an alcoholic Texas mother struggling for redemption after squandering all her prize money from a lottery win. The film was inspired by true events. (Click here for more information about the movie from IMDB.)
