A two-vehicle collision in Baxter County at the intersection of State Highways 5 and 126 took the lives of two women Monday morning.
According to the Arkansas State Police, a Sterling Truck being driven by Michael Ragland, 61, of Marshall, was traveling northbound on State Highway 126.
The second vehicle, a Chrysler Town and Country van, was being driven by Jennifer Watlington, 39, of Yellville, and was southbound on State Highway 5.
State police said the Ragland truck apparently failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection and struck the Chrysler van, killing Watlington and her passenger, Sunshine Underhill, 40, of Summit.
Ragland was injured and taken to the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
The state police fatality report said at the time of the accident, around 7:25 a.m., there was a heavy fog, and the roadway was dry.
