Dorsey Carnes, 70, of Newport passed from this life on Sunday, September 24, 2023. He was born in Newport on December 15, 1952, to Forest and Nirce (Raines) Carnes.
Dorsey was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and mowing yards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandy, and his brothers, Donnie Carnes and Roger Carnes.
He is survived by his daughter, Edith Tims (David) of Maine; his grandson, Christopher Tims; a great-granddaughter and his sister, Diane (Joe) Jones of Newport.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
