Art demonstrations, live music, and over 25 local and regional artist vendors will be part of the Batesville Area Arts Council’s (BAAC) seventh annual Artoberfest, an arts and music festival on Main Street, Saturday, Oct. 21, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Artoberfest is free to the public and is presented by Citizens Bank and sponsored by First Community Bank and Fuller Bumpers.
Musicians Ed Casper, Low Level Echoes, and Erin Walters will be performing live, and Artoberfest will feature other family fun activities, including a sidewalk chalk art contest. According to BAAC, the contest aims to engage students, teachers, families, community groups, and others by creating temporary public art. Trophies will be awarded to the top designs in two age groups, Kindergarten – 6th grade and Junior High – College. K – 6th grade students will compete from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Junior High – College students will compete from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
