Shannon Lynn Hightower, 45, of Southside, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Long Beach, California. He was born August 8, 1978, in Batesville, Arkansas to Lynn Edward Hightower and Paula Ann Davis Hightower. He was a Master Dive Instructor and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed diving, traveling the world and basketball. He loved the Arkansas Razorbacks; he had no fear, was very sociable, and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ray and Kathleen Davis; his paternal grandparents Clarence and Pearl Hightower; his uncles, Donnie Davis, Billy Davis, Keith Hurst, Lonnie Bumpous and Charles Brewer; and his aunts, Brenda Hightower, Sue Pratt, Jenetta Cossey and Lavelle Young.
He is survived by his parents; his son, Allyn Spencer Hightower and Allyn’s mother and former wife, Zulya of Rogers, Arkansas; his brothers, Jeremy Hightower and his wife, Edie of Searcy, Arkansas and Tommy Hightower of Newark, Arkansas; his sister, Kerri Franks and her husband Shone of Magness, Arkansas; his nieces and nephews, Aaron Dunivan – Hooks, Brittney Dunivan, Ashlynn Hightower, Allie Hightower, Claytynn Hightower; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins and friends all over the world.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Dale Ball, Amber Rorex-Gould, Lucas Jeffery, Brian Tucker, Thomas Johnson (Taj) and Jacob Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are his son, nieces and nephews, and the Southside High School Class of 1996.
